PowerPoint

In this module, you will be making a PowerPoint presentation. The goal is to pick any subject of interest to you and then design a presentation to explain the subject. You will be presenting your final product to the class, so try to make the presentation interesting, entertaining and informative.

  • Decide how you want this presentation to look and what you want to add to it.
  • Collect photographs and images that you want to add. See the teacher about scanning any that you need.
  • Open Microsoft PowerPoint and make sure you know how to use it (see Resources). Ask the teacher if you need help.
  • If you wish, you may use the "Auto content Wizard" and choose "Personal", which gives you a template for a 5 card presentation. This is a good way to start with PowerPoint if you have not used it before.
  • Save the presentation.

Expectations:

  • At least 10 slides
  • Include different backgrounds and/or background colours
  • Photographs and clip art
  • Action buttons
  • Pictures from the Internet
  • Different transitions
  • Different font styles and sizes
  • The more things that you incorporate into your presentations that you learned from the tutorial, without overloading or crowding your presentation, the better.

This module should take about 6 classes, so don't waste time.
