Children's Book

Materials and Equipment Needed:

• Computer connected to the Internet
• A word processing program
• Microsoft Office (PowerPoint or Word), AppleWorks SlideShow

Student outcomes:

• Use a word processor to cut, paste, print, save, retrieve files
• Ability to cut and paste from the Internet to a word processor
• Use spell check
• Format using PowerPoint, Microsoft Word or AppleWorks SlideShow

Assignment:

Create a Chrildren's book using PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, or AppleWorks SlideShow

Be creative and have fun

Part A: Create a storyboard:

When planning, gather information regarding:

• audience
• message to be conveyed
• image to project
• purpose
• length
• make decisions regarding types of text, graphics, and art work
  

Part B: Use Powerpoint, AppleWorks Slide Show or Microsoft Word to produce a slide show or pages of a book.

Your slideshow or book should have:

• 10 slides (min)
• 7 graphics(min) (from scanner, internet, clipart, items you draw yourself, etc)
• Clear text with no spelling errors
• Creative use of backgroud images and graphics. ( don't over do it)
