Keyboarding

Keyboard skills are improved through using software aids, teacher directed exercises and tests.

The expectation is that you spend 5-8 minutes at the beginning of each class on the skill assignment that will be written on the board for you when you come in to the class room.

The words-per-minute mark will be entered in two places - the teacher's mark book at the front of the room.

Each of us has our own level of skill. Your participation in this skill based learning will depend on your level. The expectation for grade 8 students is to be typing, without errors and without looking at the keyboard at 30 words per minute. The expectation for grade 9 students is the same but at 40 words per minute, error free. Your level will be determined when you start the trimester, and will be checked and altered as needed.
